Habitat affiliates are working in 51 counties throughout the state of California!
Everyone is welcome
We invite people of all backgrounds, races, and religions to work together in partnership with families in need. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds, repairs, and renovates homes alongside our homeowner (partner) families.
Homeownership is a key element for upward mobility and success.
- - Tia Boatman, ED CALHFA @ September 2016 Conference, Rebuilding Wealth through Homeownership
Even those who can afford to dedicate two-thirds of their income to rent, in addition to food and transportation costs, cannot afford to put money away to realize their dream of homeownership.
- - Robert Lapsley, President, California Business Roundtable, SF Chronicle, August 2016
There’s something for everyone
Whether you’re at home on a construction site or at a town hall, whether you write checks or letters, you’ll find your niche with Habitat. Our volunteers and donors make our mission possible.
Yes on Prop 1
Together, we can take action by saying YES on Prop. 1 – the only measure on the November ballot that builds affordable homes.
Reduce, reuse, and recycle while supporting Habitat for Humanity’s mission! Simply shop with, or donate to, your local ReStore—a nonprofit home improvement store that sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials, and more to the public at a fraction of the retail price.
ReStores are independently owned and operated by local Habitat for Humanity organizations. Proceeds are used to help build strength, stability, self-reliance, and shelter in local communities and around the world.
You have the power to bring positive change to your community. Simple things, like contacting and following up with your local lawmakers, make all the difference. Working families in California deserve affordable homeownership opportunities!
Join the effort to advocate for more affordable housing opportunities—local training sessions, groundbreakings, dedications, and advocacy events you won’t want to miss.
On May 12-16, 2016 volunteers from the Habitat for Humanity affiliate in the San Francisco East Bay and Silicon Valley region traveled to El Salvador to help build two homes through the Global Village program.
